Thòisich Sian mar phàirt de phròiseact a stèidhich Fèisean nan Gàidheal airson Blas 2016, agus tha sinn toilichte fàilte a chuir orra air ais chun na fèise. ’S e òrain le bana-bhàird a tha iad a’ seinn, a’ sealltainn neart is bòidhchead òrain Ghàidhlig. Bidh Innes MacIlleBhàin a’ cluich cuideachad, agus còmhla tha iad a’ cruthachadh fuaim a tha fìor chumhachdach.

Bhiodh Dawn agus Margie Beaton à Mabou ann an Ceap Breatainn a’ dannsa nuair nach robh iad ach ceithir bliadhn’ a dh’aois agus thòisich iad a’ cliuch na fidhle an ath bhliadhn’ a-rithist. Thairis air na bliadhnaichean tha iad air cluich aig cuirmean-ciùil, cèilidhean agus fèisean air feadh Alba Nuadh, Alba, Èirinn, An Fhraing, na Stàitean Aonaichte, Sasainn, Brasil agus Sìona. Tha sinn fìor thoilichte fàilte a chuir orra gu Fèis Bhlas airson a’ chiad uair!

Originally formed as part of a project commissioned by Fèisean nan Gàidheal for Blas 2016, Sian make a welcome return to the festival. Their repertoire focusses on songs by female bards, and showcasing the strength and beauty of Gaelic song. They are joined by Innes White to create a powerful collective sound.

Dawn and Margie Beaton from Mabou, Cape Breton were dancing at age four and started playing the fiddle a year later. Over the years they have performed at concerts, ceilidhs and festivals all around Nova Scotia, Scotland, Ireland, France, USA, England, Brazil and China. The Blas Festival is delighted to welcome them for the first time!
