_Be prepared for stirring sets of jigs and reels, strathspeys and marches as the ladies take the stage. Kristan Harvey and The Sanna are joined  here by Catriona Macdonald’s  new fiddle and mandola trio “Vamm”. Linda Macleod from North Uist brings  some timeless traditional Gaelic singing to this superb lineup.

Bidh cuid den luchd-ciùil as ainmeile air a’ Ghàidhealtachd còmhla ri Maighread;  Iain MacPhàrlain (fidheal agus bocsa-ciùil), Ingrid NicEanruig (clarsach), Ailean MacEanruig (meur-chlàr agus fidheal), Aonghas MacNeacail (a’ phìob Ghaidhealach agus a’ phìob-bheag).
_The Blas Commission 2012 has been awarded to renowned Gaelic singer Margaret Stewart, who has chosen to explore the theme of  ‘The Highland Wedding’, through the ages. Margaret, from a previous role as Gaelic Song Specialist for the Tobar an Dualchais project, will draw on her knowledge of the genre, and include songs and music of  love, loss and disappointment, flirtation, wooing, night-visiting, humour and dance. The concerts include the cream of Highland musicians : Iain MacFarlane (fiddle and button box), Ingrid Henderson (clarsach), Allan Henderson (fiddle and piano) and Angus Nicolson (small pipes and Highland pipes).
