We are delighted to announce a new addition to the Blas festival programme.  It is called the ‘Blas Open Stage’ and aims to encourage new and emerging Highland artistes to perform in front of a live audience. It will be held at the Ironworks music venue in Inverness. If you think you have something to offer in Highland music then get in touch before the 1st August 2009 and to apply to take part!  To be considered, please send an email to Blas' Artistic Director - Brian Ó hEadhra at: arts@blas-festival.com.  We will assess all the entries and announce the selection of performers in mid August.  When applying please remember to give lots of information about yourself and your music, as well as your contact details/website.  Each act will perform for 15 minutes and the Blas Open Stage will take place on Saturday 12 September at 3pm. Places for acts will be very limited so please apply early. As well as the experience of playing live, there is a fantastic prize available - The Blas committee will choose ONE of the open stage acts to perform at Blas 2010!  Who knows, it could be you!
