| Young Blas Stars Announce Full Summer Programme | |
| 13 July 2006 Among the Blas Festival’s main objectives is to promote traditional music among the area’s youth. With this in mind, many of the fèisean Cèilidh Trailers will be appearing on stages the length and breadth of the Highlands during this year’s Festival. The Cèilidh Trail from Fèis an Earraich, for example, will share the bill with Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain at Plockton on the 2nd September. Their counterparts from Fèis Lochabair will join Julie Fowlis, Angus MacColl and Jenna Cumming at the ‘Blastoff’ event in Fort William on the first day of the month. Meanwhile Fèis Spè’s Cèilidh Trail will perform during a concert in Carrbridge on the 7th September where Michael McGoldick tops the bill and those of Fèis Chataibh will also have a prominent role at high-quality Blas Festival concerts in the Sutherland area.
The different Cèilidh Trails will, of course, perform at various venues outwith the Blas Festival. In fact, they will entertain audiences throughout the summer and will travel far and wide to different venues within the Highlands.
