The earlybird offer, which provides substantial reductions on tickets for this year’s Blas Festival has proved to be a tremendous success. With a little under a week until the offer closes, festival organisers are delighted to report that earlybird has already surpassed expectations with hundreds having taken advantage of reduced prices on tickets for Blas events.

The Blas Festival will take place in September and will feature more than forty different events throughout the Highlands and Islands. Earlybird is providing generous reductions on full-price tickets for these events. A £4 reduction, for example, is offered on tickets for a concert in Strontian featuring Phil Cunningham & Aly Bain, Donald Black & Malcolm Jones and Gary Innes. Another Blas concert, staged in Kingussie and featuring the Cape Breton band Beòlach with their countryman, Troy MacGillivray and Lewis singer, Calum Alex MacMillan will cost the ‘early bird’ £9 rather than the normal full price of £12. These reductions are typical of those offered across the range of Blas events this year.

“We have been pleasantly surprised by the uptake of earlybird tickets”, according to Blas’s Director, Donna Cunningham. ”We knew that many would be sold because they provide substantial discounts but we didn’t anticipate quite this level of interest. In fact we have been inundated with requests for earlybirds and this gives the lie to the old stereotype that Highland people have a tendency to procrastinate. There are still plenty of earlybird tickets left; the only stipulation is that they have to be booked before the end of June, a matter of days away. ”

Blas will run from 1^st to the 9^th September and features an exciting range of more than 40 shows taking place throughout the Highlands. “All Blas events will feature top quality traditional and Gaelic music,“ according to Donna, “so we would urge folk to check out the delights featured in the Blas programme and book up now to take advantage of the earlybird offer’s few days.”
